What is 1-circuit track lighting, and when should I use it?
When ordering track lighting, you can choose from several options. All our 1-circuit, 3-circuit and magnetic track lighting systems can be configured with track spotlights and pendant lights, and accessories are available for all types, allowing you to configure track lighting to your preferred length and shape. In this article, we explain the difference between the types of track lighting.
1-circuit track lighting
At Qub, all track lighting can be used as 1-circuit track lighting, meaning that 3-circuit track lighting can also be connected to a single power point and used as 1-circuit track lighting. 1-circuit means that you can switch all your lights on or off with one electrical group and one light switch. If you use a dimmer with 1-circuit track lighting, all spotlights dim simultaneously. The number of circuits therefore indicates the number of electrical groups that you can control manually (wall switch, wall dimmer) with your track, in combination with the same type of track spotlights and pendant lights.
Control 1-circuit track lighting in multiple groups?
For 1-circuit track lighting, Qub track spotlights and pendant lights are available with fittings such as GU10 and E27. Various smart bulbs are available for these fittings. The advantage of smart lighting on track lighting is the ability to control each light separately. Most smart lighting apps support scenes and groups, which is the perfect solution for connecting your track lighting from a single power point while still controlling your lights by group. This can be particularly useful above your kitchen island, where you want more light while cooking than during dinner at the bar. Create separate or even mixed groups for both lights to fully tailor the atmosphere to your preferences.
