Smart lighting makes your home more comfortable and smarter. With Tuya, you can easily control lights and other devices from your smartphone. In this guide, you'll learn how to install a Tuya WiFi light bulb.
What do you need?
Make sure you have the following ready before you begin:
Tuya WiFi light bulb
For example, our smart Tuya GU10 light bulb.
Tuya Smart app
Free on the App Store or Google Play.
2.4 GHz WiFi network
Do not use a 5 GHz network during setup.
Note: The light source only connects via 2.4 GHz. Does your router combine 2.4 and 5 GHz under one network name, and are you having trouble connecting? Check your router settings to make sure 2.4 GHz is enabled.
Step-by-step guide
Install the Tuya Smart app
Download the app and create an account. Already have an account? Log in now.
Create a "Home"
The app groups all your devices in one place: your "Home."
- Go to Me → Home Management → Create a Home.
- Give your home a name and save it.
Put the light source into pairing mode
- Turn the light source on and off several times, about every 2 seconds.
- Once the bulb starts blinking, it's ready to be paired.
Add the bulb in the app
- Open the Tuya Smart app and tap the + sign in the top right.
- In most cases, the bulb appears automatically.
- Select the device and follow the instructions.
Manual pairing (if needed)
Can't find the bulb automatically? Pair it manually:
- In the app, select Lighting → Light Source (BLE + WiFi).
- Indicate whether the bulb is blinking slowly or quickly.
- Enter your 2.4 GHz WiFi network details.
- The app connects and adds the bulb.
