When ordering track lighting, you can choose from different options. All our 1-phase, 3-phase, and magnetic track lighting can be customised with track spots and pendant lights, and there are all types of accessories available to configure the track lighting to your desired length and shape. In this article, we explain the differences between the types of track lighting.

1-Phase Track Lighting

At Qub, it is possible to use all track lighting as 1-phase track lighting, so even 3-phase can be connected to a single power point and used as 1-phase track lighting. 1-phase means that with a single electrical group and one light switch, you can turn all your lights on or off. If you use a dimmer with 1-phase track lighting, all spots will dim simultaneously. The designation for the number of phases refers to the number of electrical groups that you can control analogously (wall switch, wall dimmer) with your track, in combination with the same type of track spots and pendant lights.

Controlling 1-Phase Track Lighting in Multiple Groups

For 1-phase track lighting, Qub offers track spots and pendant lights with fittings, such as the GU10 and E27 fittings. Various smart bulbs are available for these fittings. The advantage of smart lighting on track lighting is the ability to control each lamp individually. Most smart lighting apps support scenes and groups, which is the solution to connect your track lighting from one power point and still control your lamps by group. This can be especially useful above your kitchen island where you want more light while cooking than when dining at the bar. Create separate or even mixed groups for both lamps to fully set the mood to your liking.
