L-shaped Track Lighting

An L-shape is one of the most popular configurations for track lighting. It suits almost any space and adds a bit more dynamism compared to an I-shape.

L-shaped Track Lighting

L-shaped track lighting is an excellent way to accentuate the shape of a room, as almost every space contains a right angle. Install this configuration along the walls to create the illusion of a larger space. By directing the lights towards the walls, you can make the room feel more spacious while also highlighting wall decorations. Alternatively, you can aim the lights inwards to define the space using light. This layout is also ideal for positioning above an L-shaped seating area, emphasising both the shape and function of the space. This way, lighting and interior design form a cohesive whole. The L-shape is one of the most commonly used track lighting configurations, as it enhances a wide variety of spaces.

Additionally, you can use this configuration along an inner corner. By allowing the track to "turn the corner," the track lighting’s continuous line brings cohesion to your interior. This seamlessly connects both sides of the corner, creating a coherent and streamlined look. You can also cut the tracks to size with a hacksaw, ensuring that your track lighting perfectly matches the shape of your space.

What You Need

  • 1x L-connector
  • 1x I-connector
  • 3x single-phase track rails
  • Track spotlights

Of course, you can always expand or customise the list to suit your needs. Depending on how large you want the track lighting to be, you can add extra track rails. However, always ensure that a connector is placed between two track rails so that the entire system receives power.
