With the various connectors available in our webshop, you can install our track lighting in any shape. This allows you to tailor the track system precisely to the shape of the room and customise the track lighting to suit your preferences. In this blog, we provide several examples of the shapes you can create using our tracks and accessories. Of course, it is also possible to create other shapes—choose what best fits the layout of your space.

O-shaped Track Lighting

By connecting the track rails in an O-shape, you can create a type of frame on the ceiling. This allows you to match the track system to the shape of the room, positioning all lighting along the edges of the space. You can then choose to direct the track spotlights towards the walls to highlight artwork or paintings. Alternatively, you can aim the spotlights towards the centre of the room to define the space with lighting. Additionally, an O-shape can provide illumination from all sides for a particular feature or area, such as a kitchen island or a seating area.

U-shaped Track Lighting

A U-shaped track lighting system also creates a frame on the ceiling, similar to the O-shape, but with three sides. This shape is ideal for positioning at the end of a hallway or room, where the tracks run parallel to the back wall and the two side walls. This design helps accentuate the room's shape and can make the space appear longer.

T-shaped Track Lighting

A T-shaped track lighting system works particularly well in kitchens where the dining table and kitchen counter form a T-layout. Position the long side of the T above the dining table and add pendant lights for a cosy atmosphere. Meanwhile, place the short side of the T above the kitchen counter, allowing you to direct track spotlights onto the worktop for improved visibility while cooking.

I-shaped Track Lighting

An I-shaped track lighting setup is highly versatile and can be used in almost any setting. By aligning the track lighting in a straight line, this shape emphasises the length of a room. As a result, it is suitable for anytype of space. Using straight connectors, you can extend the track system to any desired length.

L-shaped Track Lighting

An L-shaped track lighting system is excellent for highlighting the shape of a room. Install the track along the walls to create the illusion of a larger space, or place it above an L-shaped seating area to emphasise the layout. This is one of the most commonly used track lighting configurations, as it enhances the appearance of many different rooms.

P-shaped Track Lighting

Lastly, we have the P-shaped track lighting setup. This configuration is ideal if you want to frame a particular area while also adding light to another part of the room. For example, you can outline a seating area with track lighting while also illuminating the pathway leading to it. This setup emphasises the shape of the room and helps create a well-defined area within the space.

Choosing the Right Track Lighting Shape

When installing track lighting, it is essential to consider the shape of the room and determine which track lighting layout best suits the space. Think carefully about the elements you want to highlight, where you want to direct the light, and how large the track lighting system should be. By planning ahead, you can tailor your track lighting to the space, ensuring the perfect lighting setup to meet your needs.
